My Marrakesh Journal

ORIENTAL DREAM
This Summer 2025 collection holds a very special meaning for me. A taste of the Orient, whose story I wanted to share with you.
Rather than a destination, a well-known place, this season, I wanted to let my imagination wander.
I looked at images—many images—of fashion and the world, when I stumbled upon vintage photographs of Yves Saint Laurent in Marrakesh. Snapshots of bohemian Orientalism in the winding alleys of the Medina, and discreet jet-set gatherings with his tribe of artists and muses.

So, I started to design an ideal wardrobe: a safari jacket, of course, the embodiment of the easy femininity I love so much; the voluptuousness of large, flowing blouses too, blended with oriental colors, which I see worn over jeans. All these pieces, with their timeless modernity, bohemian nonchalance, and understated sensuality, form an ideal wardrobe for the new traveling woman.

MARRAKESH CALLING
But the more I designed, the more Marrakesh seemed to call me. It was with my brother, Martin, that I decided to go—finally. I needed a familiar presence to accompany me and, above all, to document and crystallize my first encounter with Marrakesh.
As soon as I arrived, I felt the city had something to offer me. The softness of the air and the people, the beauty of the colors and shapes captivated me instantly.

Very quickly, I let myself be enchanted and continued creating, this time in rhythm with my discoveries:
The delicate arabesques of a moucharabieh inspired a silhouette, a sculpted stucco façade dictated a print. The subtle chromatic harmony of the zellige mosaic floors and walls gave me color ideas, and at Majorelle—an Art Deco cathedral of shapes and hues—I imagined more modern cuts. The Berber style, where raw earth reigns supreme, encouraged me to work with natural materials like linen and raffia.
And beyond nostalgic clichés, I was struck by the city's cosmopolitan energy, its remarkable fusion of tradition and modernity, the urban poetry that remains the common thread in all my creations. Including this collection, and this personal city guide, in which I offer you, as a tribute, a small piece of my own Marrakesh.

MY CITY GUIDE - MARRAKESH EXPRESS
I began my journey with the city’s iconic landmarks—the Medina, Majorelle, the sublime Bahia Palace —but little by little, through encounters and aimless wandering, I found myself drifting off the well-trodden tourist paths.
Instead of the bustling Medina, I sought out the most hidden flea markets, uncovering hidden treasures. Antiquing is my passion.
Rather than the classic Riads—though some are truly stunning, like Dar Rbaa Laroub, which I highly recommend—I took a break at Berber Lodge, a timeless haven of peace. Its simple beauty, natural elegance, and pure décor and materials won me over.
After a visit to the highly inspiring MAP (World of Arts and Adornment), an inexhaustible source of creative inspiration, I headed to the Gueliz district, the vibrant modern heart of Marrakesh. There, after a drink at the trendy social club Pétanque, I dined at Sahbi-Sahbi (meaning Ami-Ami in French), a restaurant run by women, where traditional and contemporary culinary codes are masterfully blended.

Marrakesh is brimming with magical places—here are just a few.
